Quality Improvement Plan

What is the Quality Improvement Plan?

  • It is a way to communicate to the public, patients and staff (accountability and transparency)
  • It is the identification of annual performance improvement targets & the justification for those targets
  • It Links executive compensation to the achievement of the targets identified within the plan
  • It is part of the strategic planning process for the hospital and it is discussed and endorsed at board level
  • It provides quality improvement data in a format that permits province-wide comparison & reporting on a minimum set of quality indicators – this reporting is done by the Ontario Health Quality Council (HQC)
