Attawapiskat Hospital temporairly closed

Our Attawapiskat Hospital is temporarily closed because of a flood caused by the building’s sprinkler system.

Emergency care and services is being provided in the community’s Health Centre at 16 Rapids Road.

If you need EMERGENCY CARE go to the Attawapiskat Health Centre or call an ambulance at 705-997-1111.

Patients are being moved to our Fort Albany Hospital and Weeneebayko General Hospital in Moose Factory for their comfort and safety.

Maintenance staff from Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) have been sent to Attawapiskat to repair the sprinklers, and clean up and fix any damage to the building.
