Red and white health cards won’t be accepted as of July 2020
If you still use a red and white health card it’s time to replace it with a more secure photo health card.
As of July 1, 2020, red and white Ontario health cards will no longer be accepted for Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) services including emergency and family medicine visits at any of our hospitals or the Moosonee Health Centre.
Service Ontario has all the information you need to switch your old health card to a new, secure photo health card. Visit ServiceOntario.ca/RedandWhite to find out what documents you need to replace your health card, your nearest Service Ontario location (you can even book appointments online) and what to do if you meet the criteria for a medical exemption.
