COVID-19 Community Update: Urgent Care Clinics replace regular out-patient clinics until further notice
As of March 18, 2020, our regular appointment clinics are closed until further notice.
However, we will continue to provide care for emergency and medically urgent dental, medical and mental health concerns.
Until further notice, our emergency rooms in Moosonee, Moose Factory, Fort Albany and Attawapiskat are ONLY for emergencies, such as:
Urgent Care in Moosonee and Moose Factory
Effective immediately, urgent medical care such as (but not limited to):
will be provided at the Moosonee Health Centre and a newly established Urgent Care Clinic in Moose Factory.
Moosonee Health Centre urgent care services are available every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Moose Factory Urgent Care Clinic, located in the Weeneebayko General Hospital’s Family Medicine Clinic has appointments available every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fort Albany Hospital and Attawapiskat Hospital urgent/emergency care
Urgent and emergency care remain available 24/7. Hospital staff or paramedics at both hospitals will be outside screening patients and any necessary escorts for signs and symptoms of respiratory illnesses prior to entering the hospital.
Medication Refill Clinic (Moose Factory, Weeneebayko General Hospital)
Every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (use the Family Medicine entrance)
Reminder: all non-essential medical travel is cancelled, i.e. appointments to Kingston, Sudbury, Timmins etc. are canceled. As well, specialty clinics are cancelled including dental, diabetes.
The best way to protect yourself and your community is by preventing the spread of germs.
Practice social distancing. Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds. Cough and sneeze into your arm or a tissue and throw out used tissues right away and wash hands immediately. Clean and disinfect shared surfaces and avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Wear a mask when you go out for essentails. If you are 70 years or older self-isolate.
