During National Medical Laboratory Week, we are encouraging you to take a closer look at what medical laboratory professionals do.

Did you know?

There are 1.2 million laboratory tests performed every day by medical laboratory professionals in Canada.

Who are Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLTs) and Medical Laboratory Assistants (MLAs)? MLTs analyze tissue samples, blood, and other body fluids. They provide results to physicians for a diagnosis and potential treatment.  MLAs Often collect samples directly from patients. They sort, prepare, and sometimes process samples which are analyze by a MLTs.

Let’s celebrate all medical laboratory professionals do and tell the James & Hudson Bay region about their crucial role in patient care at WAHA.
