Mandatory Pre-Screening for Patients and Escorts Travelling For Any Medical Appointments

Please note that all clients and their escorts traveling for any medical appointments must cooperate with mandatory pre-screening 48 hours prior to their scheduled departure time.

COVID is circulating in the region and for the safety of all clients and WAHA staff, it is important that everyone is adhering to the provincial guidelines and stay at home orders. This includes maintaining the 6 feet distancing, wearing a mask which covers both mouth and nose at all times, and using hand sanitizer as recommended.

If client/escort fails to cooperate or does not answer the mandatory pre-screening questions, boarding will be denied and travel will be canceled and rescheduled.

If a client/escort cannot be reached by the Transportation Coordinator (TC) because they do not have a phone, it will be the client/escort’s responsibility to contact their TC the day prior to their departure to review the mandatory screening.

If no call has been received by 12pm, travel will be canceled and rescheduled accordingly.

Client/escort can reach the Medical Transportation office Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm at 705-336-2947. For more information on NIHB, please see our website https://www.waha.ca/nihb/
