Notice re: Transition to Passive Screening

Attention community members:

Please be advised WAHA is transitioning to passive entrance screening measures for clients, visitors, and staff. This transition will begin with all non-hospital/health center sites on December 19, 2022. Weeneebayko General Hospital, Moosonee Health Centre, Fort Albany Hospital, and Attawapiskat Hospital will transition on January 16, 2023.

Passive entrance screening means there will no longer be screening personnel stationed at WAHA site entrances. Instead, clients, visitors, and staff will be required to self-assess whether they can safely enter the building using the guidelines shared on Entrance Screening posters. Temperature screening will also be eliminated.

If you have any of the symptoms listed on the posters, please follow the instructions for ER patients, other outpatients, visitors, and staff.

Please note that all other infection prevention and control and public health measures such as universal masking requirements, physical distancing, and handwashing remain in effect.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation during this transition period. We trust that clients, visitors, and staff will self-monitor and self-report any symptoms they experience for the safety of all community members.
