Weeneebayko Area Health Authority Ground Breaking Ceremony

Yesterday, we broke ground on our new regional health campus in Moosonee and our new ambulatory care centre in Moose Factory. This project is decades in the making and truly marks a historic milestone for the entire James Bay Region.

This project includes an acute care hospital, an extended mental health and addictions centre, a long-term care elders lodge, a large hostel to support patients and families seeking care from across the region, as well as new staff housing units.

Meegwetch to our team, communities, the Ministry of Health, Indigenous Services Canada, and our partners for your help in making this day possible.

For those who were unable to attend in person or via live stream, we are sharing the video of our groundbreaking ceremony, We made sure it was filmed since we know not everyone was able to attend this historic event, and we want to make sure you can still be a part of it!
