Communications Officer, Knowledge Translation & Exchange

ICES is seeking a communications officer, knowledge translation & exchange (KTE) to join our Communications, Knowledge Translation & Exchange (CKTE) team. Reporting to the director, communications, knowledge translation & exchange, the communications officer, KTE is responsible for developing and disseminating KTE products based on Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) corporate and community based initiatives that are targeted at a variety of parties. Acting as a resource to internal and external partners, the communications officer will help ensure that information is transferred and exchanged in a way that meets the needs of the James and Hudson Bay region. The communications officer, KTE, will be dedicated to a specific suite of project work within the Indigenous Health portfolio, supporting a public health program in the Weeneebayko region. The region is currently working on the development of a region-specific public health model (Minomathasowin – “Healthy Living”) that is more culturally responsive to the needs of the people in the James and Hudson Bay area (Moosonee, Moose Factory, Fort Albany, Kashechewan, Attawapiskat, Peawanuck).
