Patient Values
The Ontario’s government’s Excellent Care for All Act requires all hospitals to have a Patient Declaration of Values. Our Patient Values statement was created with help from patients, community members, and WAHA staff.
We are committed to:
- providing the best possible quality care free of prejudice, harassment or abuse
- training staff so that they are capable of providing culturally safe and competent services
- providing up-to-date and current health information
- arranging for appropriate Cree translation services while in our care
- protecting your personal health information so it remains confidential and private
- encouraging family involvement in your care
- ensuring access to pastoral care services
- helping you traditional healing programs
- being professional and courteous
- providing care in a safe and clean environment
As a patient, you have the responsibility to:
- respect hospital staff, other patients and visitors
- be respectful of hospital property
- ask questions about your care
- accept responsibility for the choices and decisions you make about your care
- inform us if you are not pleased with your care
- give accurate information to help plan your care
