Meditech Health Information System – WAHA’s Electronic Health Record for Patients

Meditech is a Health Information Management System used at all of Weeneebayko Area Health Authority clinical and non clinical sites, and departments since November 2013. When Meditech was introduced at WAHA, the organization became part of the North Eastern Ontario Network (NEON), which consists of 22 hospital partners and 3 independent Health Facilities serving residents in North Eastern Ontario.

NEON’s Goal is to eventually have one integrated Health Record used by all of the partner organizations, this means that one chart would follow the patient as services are received at any of the NEON group partner organizations.

WAHA currently uses some of the following NEON Meditech Clinical Services and is hopeful to add more services in the coming years:
Patient Registration
Imaging and Therapeutic services
Laboratory
Health Information Management
Pharmacy
