2025 Summer Boat Transportation Schedule

Effective April 5, 2025

Boat Transporation services to and from Weeneebayko General Hospital (WGH) are provided for patients and their escorts, Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) business travelers.

Kingston Charter Passengers:

  • Moose Factory patients/escorts traveling on flight 704 to Kingston must be at Liaison by 12:30 p.m. for the 12:45 p.m. run.
  • Check-in at Air Creebec counter by 2:00 p.m. for 3:00 p.m. departure.
  • Physician’s/Visiting Specialists/WAHA Business Travelers must be at Liaison by 2:00 p.m. for the 2:15 p.m. run.
  • All passengers must provide a valid ID to the ticket agent upon check in – One government issued photo I.D.or two pieces of government issued non-photo I.D. with at least one of these containing names, date of birth and gender.

To Meet Operational Requirements

  • Boat runs will depart on time and will not be delayed for any reason other than inclement weather or mechanical issues. Individuals who arrive late will be denied boarding and will need to travel at their own expense. Patients/escorts must arrive 15 minutes before departure time.
  • Moosonee patients/escorts attending appointments at WGH must be at the Moosonee Clinic 15 minutes prior to the scheduled runs.
  • Moose Factory patients/escorts travelling on Ontario Northland must be at Liaison by 2:00 p.m. for the 2:15 p.m. run.
  • Reimbursement will not be available for missed runs.
  • Moosonee and Moose Factory Transportation Drivers are not permitted to pick-up or drop-off patients, escorts, and staff at private residences. Exception: patients with dialysis appointments.
  • Children without scheduled appointments cannot accompany clients (parents).
  • No pets, alcohol or illegal substances are allowed.

Travel Warrants:

  • WAHA business travelers must email their travel warrant to WAHA-local-drivers@waha.ca and present a copy of the warrant to the drivers.
  • Moosonee and Moose Factory Patients/Escorts must provide warrants upon utilizing services.

Bags, Luggage, and Parcels for Flight and Train Travel:

  • Only one (1) carry-on and one (1) piece of luggage weighing no more than 25 pounds is allowed. Exception for client’s medical equipment.
  • Passengers are responsible for making alternate transportation arrangements (public boat taxi) for any extra bags/parcels weighing over 25 pounds (excluding business travelers who require tools to perform their job).

Exceptions: Extra runs will only be made when a physician or nurse practitioner deems a patient is “Medically Urgent”. This must be indicated on the Travel Warrant.
