Building on our strong foundation, Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) and Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) are pleased to announce an expanded partnership to include a formal leadership role for the Diagnostic Imaging Service. This strategic growth enhances our shared commitment to delivering high-quality care and specialized services in the James and Hudson Bay region.
We are excited to share that John Wright has been appointed Director of Diagnostic Imaging Services at WAHA, a new cross-organizational leadership role that supports WAHA’s mission of providing exemplary care throughout the region. In this role, John will bring together expertise from both WAHA and TADH to lead a regional, integrated approach to diagnostic imaging services.
John is a strategic healthcare leader with over a decade of experience in Diagnostic Imaging, Health Services Management, and Project Leadership. He began his career with WAHA as a frontline Medical Radiation Technologist before moving into progressive leadership roles. Currently an MBA candidate, John also oversees Diagnostic Imaging, Imaging Informatics, and Cardio-Respiratory Services at TADH.
John is recognized for his commitment to innovation, regional collaboration, and improving access to care in rural and Northern Ontario. He was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for his contributions to healthcare leadership and service.
