32 Long Term Care Beds Allocated to WAHA

On March 1 2018, our organization submitted an application to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (Ministry), requesting to add long-term care bed capacity.  We are proud to announce that the Ministry has recently approved the request as part of their Aging with Confidence: Ontario’s Action Plan for Seniors (Aging with Confidence), and will allocate 32 long-term care beds to the Weeneebayko General Hospital, Moosonee site.

The 32 new beds will enable our organization to provide care to seniors closer to home, in alignment with our commitment to providing optimum health care as close to home as possible for those residing in the James and Hudson Bay region.

We would like to thank the Ministry for their continued support of our health care services; this announcement further strengthens our ability to provide care for our elders closer to home.  We look forward to working with the Ministry as the new site is being built in Moosonee.
